Introduction:
Waikene Wagyu run a herd of 100%, black Wagyu cattle set in the Kaikoura ranges.
Offering for the first time for auction a fine selection of full blood Cows, Heifers, Bulls and Steers.
Waikene’s embryos were selected from highly regarded breeders Dominic and Jo Bayard of the multi-award winning Goorambat Wagyu herd in Northern Victoria.
Using a mixture of 3 main Wagyu strains Tajima, Shamane and Tottori to breed well balanced Wagyu
females to meet NZ conditions.
Dam GRSFH0323 selected to our breeding programme is one of Goorambats elite line with a MS 9+
carcase progeny.
Our Wagyu Females and bulls are registered and percentage DNA verified with the Australian Wagyu
Association with pedigree certs issued, EBV’s are available.
All females and Bulls have been BVD tested negative and have been vaccinated.
These Wagyu’s have a very quiet temperament and are easily handled, perfect for lifestyle blocks.

Flush-sister to lot 5, is also the mother of lot 9 in this sale so proven breeder. Very good marble fineness figure and low birthweight.
Lot 2 Waikene Wagyu N0009
Impressive data with very good marble score and marble fineness figures suggesting top eating quality, as well as big EMA indicating her progeny should yield with plenty of meat. Low birthweight to boot. Is a full sister to lot 7 and is also the mother of lot 13.

Very good growth on the page, with particularly strong 400-day weight figure, scrotal size, and short gestation that would all tend to indicate early maturity and give her good indexes. Full sister to lot 4.
